The Sandman, Mariano Rivera, finishing off the Mariners

With last night's win in Gotham, the Yankees continued their scorching hot streak. After starting the season 1-4, the Bronx Bombers have gone 24-10. It's hard to imagine that a Yankee lineup without Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Curtis Granderson (made his season debut yesterday), Mark Teixeira, and now Kevin Youkilis, can perform so well. The Yanks are getting unbelievable production from baseball retreads such as Lyle Overbay, Vernon Wells, and Travis Hafner. To be honest, the Baseball Gods and Father Time have been very generous to even allow these three players to get a chance this season... let alone with the Yankees. Go figure? However, the real reason for the Yanks' success is its bullpen. Led by future Hall-of-Famer, Mariano Rivera, the Yankees' bullpen has not allowed a run in the last 24 and 2/3 innings. To put that in better perspective, the arch-rival Red Sox have allowed 6 runs in its bullpen's last 6 and 2/3 innings.
